Brandywine Crucible, Inc., a non-profit heritage society, is a chronicle of the Quaker families who lived along Brandywine Creek of Southeastern Pennsylvania in Colonial times and their progeny who followed them. This genetic "melting pot" became a pattern for the development of a great nation and the vigorous people who built it. Thus the name, Brandywine Cox Family. This family is composed of several hundred descendants who, two centuries later, are attempting to gather the history of the Cox family and their allied families along the Brandywine. Les Sutton, a Cox descendant, created this website in February 2006 and has contributed so much to the discovery of our roots and continues to inspire others to continue the quest. Over 34,000 names are currently in our database, primarily the Cox and Sutton surnames and our tree continues to grow. Information on this website is presented to help us learn more about who we are and why we are who we are.
